Liverpool Street Guardians

Protect. Support.
Safeguard.

The Liverpool Street Guardians are a volunteer-led community safety organisation dedicated to making Liverpool safer through a visible, reassuring presence within our communities.

Our mission is simple: to provide a consistent, professional and compassionate presence that helps people feel safer while contributing positively to the wider safety and wellbeing of Liverpool.

Our mission

A professional community presence. Never a vigilante group.

The Liverpool Street Guardians exist to make our communities safer through visible patrols, compassionate intervention and responsible action. We are trained volunteers who support those in need, deter anti-social behaviour through our presence, and ensure concerns are reported to the appropriate authorities.

Protect

We provide a visible presence across Liverpool's streets, parks and public spaces, helping people feel safer simply by being there. Our patrols observe, reassure, prevent escalation where it is safe to do so, and promote a safer environment for everyone.

Support

Every patrol is an opportunity to help someone. Whether assisting vulnerable adults, rough sleepers, young people, visitors or anyone in distress, we provide practical support, reassurance and guidance while helping individuals access the services they need.

Safeguard

Safety always comes first. We never replace the police, ambulance or other emergency services. When someone is at immediate risk, we contact 999 without hesitation. We record concerns, report incidents responsibly and work within clear operational procedures, ensuring every action is accountable, proportionate and in the best interests of those we serve.

Disciplined patrols. Responsible action.

Every deployment follows a structured approach. Guardians patrol in organised teams under the direction of experienced Team Leaders, maintaining open communications and following established operating procedures at all times.

Our objective is not confrontation. Our purpose is to provide a visible presence that reassures the public, discourages anti-social behaviour, assists those who need help, and reports concerns to the appropriate authorities.

  • Observe situations objectively
  • Deter through presence
  • Assist where it is safe and appropriate
  • Report to the emergency services or partner agencies when required

Support in the moment

Practical help, a calm presence, and someone who cares.

A big part of what we do is being there for people who need help — vulnerable adults, women and girls, young people, rough sleepers and anyone experiencing crisis on our streets. We carry welfare items, offer reassurance, and signpost people to the right services. We're self-funded and rely on the kindness of local people and businesses to keep going.
